This course prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years. The Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) is a nationally recognised qualification which will enable learners to progress into employment with pre-school children.
The course is two years in length and you will be required to attend 2 different placement settings for a total of 750 hours during this period. The College Placement Officer will be able support you in finding these placements.
You will need to complete and pay for a DBS check in order to attend the placement requirements of this course.
Your performance in your placements will be assessed- alongside this there will be the assessment of knowledge through three externally set assessments, and ongoing coursework set by your class teachers. You will also undertake a longitudinal study, where you will follow and observe a child's development needs and interests.
You will continue to improve your maths and English skills to support young children in the workplace.
