Here you will be able to find all the information needed to know what our Open Evenings for 2019 are all about, who you need to contact with any questions, and to know what to do on the night. Thank you all for making our Open Evenings a great experience for prospective students.

Staff Briefings

Forest of Dean: 4:45pm in Food Central
Cheltenham: 4:45pm in Food Central

On the evening, you will be given survival kits at the staff briefing with some treats and information for the night, so please make your Head of School aware that you will be attending to receive one and attending the briefing session. You will also get a bit more information about the evenings event and how you can enhance your visitors' experience - You sell the College and your courses!

As always, we really appreciate you being at the Open Evenings to represent the College and for helping to make this evening a fantastic experience for all involved. We hope you enjoy meeting your potential new students.

Dates for January Open Evenings 2019

Gloucester: Monday 21st January, 5:00 - 8:00pm
Forest of Dean: Wednesday 23rd January, 5.30 - 7.30pm
Cheltenham: Monday 28th January, 5.30 - 8.00pm

Pre-Registered Visitors

We encourage all visitors to pre-register ahead of the event. On the evening, some course areas are more popular than others, however we do get a number of visitors arriving on the night who haven't pre-registered, so these numbers can change throughout the evening. Please do not take a quiet course area as opportunity to leave your areas, as you never know when someone will come by. We want all visitors to have a great experience and be inspired!

What's in the Survival Kits?

At the staff briefing you will be given your survival kit for the evening. In here you will find: a map of the Open Evening, some sweets and a chocolate bar, there will also be a designated area for refreshments such as tea & Coffee. These will be served from 5:30pm.

What's happening on the night?

5:00pm - Whilst the event officially starts at 5:30pm (Gloucester campus 5:00pm), we often get guests showing up from 5pm so please be ready in your areas following the staff briefing from this time.

5:30/6:00/6:30pm Members of staff will also be leading a series of Welcome Talks about the College and its offer. Please encourage all visitors to attend this: Gloucester - Theatre, Forest of Dean - Touchdown, Cheltenham - TBC.

IMPORTANT information regarding Gloucester campus Open Evening:

This January we will be trialling a new system in order to give our guests the best possible experience and ease congestion. Rather than prospective students and parents booking onto the open evening as a whole, they will be booking onto a specific welcome talk in order to stagger the arrivals. The Gloucester welcome talks will be 5:15/5:45/6:15/6:45PM. Once guests have checked in via the welcome desk in the sports hall, they will be held in a waiting area ready to be ushered to the relevant area.

7:30pm We understand that it gets quieter towards the end of the evening, but please be prepared for late guests to make sure they have the same experience as early arrivers. The event officially finishes at 8.00pm (7.30pm at FOD).

Finally... at the end of the evening could you please put down any collateral that belongs to the Marketing Team - this includes pop-up banners and posters. Please could you return these to the Welcome Desk at the end of the evening.

Application Hubs

This year we are having a main Application Hub at each campus where the Admissions Team will be on hand to support applying students.

We encourage all applicants to complete the online application with the Admissions Team in the Application Hub, so please point them in this direction.

If necessary, paper application forms are available in the back of the prospectuses given to all visitors in their welcome goody bags.

There will be stickers on the floor at each campus leading to the Application Hubs in order to make them easy to find.
