Parent Information Sessions: Post-GCSE Choices

Would you like to know more about post-GCSE education options?

Sometimes it’s hard for parents to stay ‘in the loop’ as their children progress to Further Education and become more independent.

This session will explain all of the post-GCSE options for you to help your child make the right choice for them and understand how they can make the most of the next step in education.

More than one route to success

At Gloucestershire College, we know that there’s more than one route to success post-GCSE study and we understand the choices young people face when deciding their next steps in education once they have completed their GCSEs.

From A Levels, to technical courses and apprenticeships, there are a wealth of post-GCSE options available to young people and as a parent you play a key role in helping them to choose a course that suits their skills, abilities and future ambition.

We can help you explore the options and opportunities at a Parent Information Session.

After a welcome from our Principal, Matthew Burgess, the expert GC Advice Team will provide impartial information on all of the education options available to young people in Gloucestershire in a short talk, after which the Student Development Team will offer a student’s view to help parents understand the journey their children are going through at this important time in their lives.

The hour session will cover:

  • An introduction from the Principal and Vice Principal
The GC Advice Team: an expert, impartial insight into post-GCSE options
  • The Student Development Team: what should your children expect from an education provider to make them ready for university and employment
  • Q&A
