Thanks to the contacts of my lecturer, I gained work experience as a production assistant alongside my studies, which he allowed me the flexibility to do. The College has great facilities for the course; lots of professional film equipment and industry-standard cameras. I am now considering working freelance, using the contacts acquired through my college work experience, and I would like to move to London to progress my career in film.
Students choose to study at GC for a range of reasons: improved employability that comes with gaining higher-level qualifications; to facilitate progression in their current careers; or simply because they want a change of direction or to turn their passion into a career.
Whatever your motivation, we’ll make sure that you’re provided with the right environment, support and facilities to help you to achieve your goals.
GC has partnered with the University of Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire and Stroud College (SGS), progression routes and the chance to study closer to home.
This means that you can study University of Gloucestershire validated degrees or franchised degrees at GC, but also have access to the facilities and resources at the University.
Despite already working for a construction company, I wanted to develop my knowledge of the industry to be able to take on more responsibilities and progress as my three children grow older. I was able to take one day off a week to attend college, so this course supported my work/life balance. It covered a variety of areas and I really feel I gained a broad understanding of the construction industry.
