Let’s talk about apprenticeships.

A new career route for you to take after your A levels

An apprenticeship is a valid and vocational move that many young adults choose after their A Level results. A great modern alternative to going to university, an apprenticeship could be right for you.

Stand out from the crowd

If you’ve decided that you don't want to stay in full time education, this is your opportunity to do something different.

You can begin working life earlier, instead of choosing another three to five years in lecture rooms and classrooms at university, and can use this time to trial and experiment with a range of different jobs to discover the type of work that you enjoy for a career.

Finance

The average student debt after graduating from university is around £50,000. This includes the £9,000 a year tuition fees, and then any maintenance loans used for accommodation, food and general life!

As an apprentice you start earning a wage from the moment you begin and moreover, there's no tuition fees. You will work for a company on a full time basis, with paid holiday, whilst studying towards a nationally recognised qualification.

Employer recruitment service

GC has worked with local employers for decades and has developed strong links with over 1,000 Gloucestershire businesses. Our unrivalled Employer recruitment service can match your apprenticeship requirements and skill set to the right employer.

We work with some of the largest brands in the county including Superdry, Renishaw, GE Aviation, Omega, and Hazelwoods Accounting.

Why choose GC?

You have the benefit of being supported by a workplace manager and colleagues, and a dedicated Gloucestershire College Training Co-ordinator who will regularly visit you out in the workplace.

For those apprenticeships which require classroom based teaching, you will be taught by industry expert lecturers as you would at university- at either our Gloucester or Cheltenham campus.
