The Business Hub at GC has a dedicated and experienced team to help you find the right course, or the right apprentice for your business.

Our Business Consultants can give you a free Training Needs Analysis to help you decide what courses are suitable, and they can also answer any questions you have about the training process and the costs involved.

Amy Harris CertRP

Business Consultant

Amy is responsible for engaging with employers in and around Gloucestershire to promote Apprenticeships and address any areas of training and development they need. Amy has a particular interest in the construction industry as secretary for local group Constructing Excellence.

Business Development Coordinator

Richard has been with the college for six years. He joined as Business and Administration apprentice before moving into a full-time role. Prior to this Richard worked as a Helpdesk technician at a local school and at Gloucester Hospital working in day surgery and theatre.

Business Development Administrator

Robyn joined the team in May 2015 having previously worked at the College in Student Services. Previously she has worked at the Jobcentre, matching customers to suitable roles. Robyn is responsible for supporting apprentices with their applications and matching them with employers.

Richard Peers

Business Consultant

Richard re-joined Gloucestershire College as a Business Consultant in June 2016 supporting the Engineering, Electronic and Motor Vehicle sectors.

With an extensive industrial background Richard is able to appreciate the training and skills needs of the manufacturing sector.  Previously working for a number of International organisations which included, Dowty Hydraulics, Serck Glocon, Charter plc, Strachen and Henshaw and British Hartford Fairmount.

Richard started his engineering career on a five year apprenticeship through Gloucestershire College.Telehoist was Richard's first employer. 

The apprenticeship was excellent grounding for a long term career in engineering, working in every department, from the machine shop, tool room, through to welding and fabrication Richard was able to achieve to position as design draughtsman after 6 years, raising to the position of Export Manager.

In more recent years Richard has held two Directorships and worked on several major international projects such as the new airport in Hong Kong, the Bangkok Metro, Heathrow express, Istanbul Metro, Sizewell Nuclear plant and the North Sea Oil Platforms.

Richard is passionate about staff development and training and particularly about apprenticeship and the potential for young people to progress to degree level and to management within their chosen profession.

Business Consultant

Sophie has worked at the College for over four years. She has a background in management within professional services and banking, and of working in the care sector. Sophie has six years of  recruitment experience and has an outstanding knowledge of the local area and the industries within it. She is responsible for the Healthcare, Dentistry and Early Years sectors

Shelley joined the Business Hub Team in February 2016 having previously worked at the College as a Training Coordinator.
