Forest Vinyl are looking for a retail apprentice to join their family run record store. You will be encouraged to learn all aspects of working in a retail environment whilst studying towards your retail qualification.
You will be working towards your L2 Retail apprenticeship by assisting in a range of duties relevant to your studies, you will also be set aside time to complete your learning.
- Assisting customers with their choices and sales.
- Advising of new stock arriving and ordering records if not in stock.
- Updating the website, Facebook and Discogs.
- Ensuring customers feel relaxed e.g. chatting about music, bands etc. with a cup of coffee or tea.
- General cleanliness of store and stockroom.
Aside from the above we can teach you professional record cleaning and how to recognise a valuable vintage record.
Excellent customer care. A love of music. Basic computer skills
Personable and trustworthy
GCSE Maths and English A – D or equivalent qualifications
Possible permanent position upon completion of apprenticeship

Forest Vinyl are an independent record store dealing in both new and used vinyl records. They have a diverse catalogue of over 10,000 of records for sale covering 100s of genres of music. From Rock to Punk to Pop and everything in between. They’re confident that they have the perfect album for all of their customers. They also have used record players, dvds and cassettes. They pride themselves on their relaxed, friendly approach to sales and most customers are regulars who pop in for a chat about music in general.
