A Level Results
Last year we had a pass rate of 98.3% across all subjects and campuses. In the Forest of Dean the pass rate was 99.1%.
Over 80% of the subjects had a 100% pass rate and 67.2% of students gained A* to C grades.
Many of our A Level students got accepted on a course by their first-choice university. Others have entered Higher Apprenticeships with us or are returning to GC to study higher vocational courses.
We only offer a few GCSEs including the core subjects of science, maths and English.
Across all subjects our post-16 GCSE students achieved a pass rate of 95.8%, with half of these having a 100% pass rate.
Our post-16 English GCSE students achieved a 94.6% pass rate, while our maths pass rate for post-16 students was even better, at 97.2%.
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is responsible for safeguarding standards and improving the quality of higher education.
In August 2013 QAA conducted a review of Gloucestershire College’s Higher Education offer. The core aim of this review is to examine whether institutions offering higher education provide higher education qualifications of an appropriate academic standard and a student experience of acceptable quality.
The review established that Gloucestershire College met UK standards:
- The academic standards of the awards the College offers on behalf of its awarding bodies meet UK expectations for threshold standards.
- The quality of student learning opportunities at the College meets UK expectations.
- The quality of information produced for students and applicants meets UK expectations.
- The enhancement of student learning opportunities at the College meets UK expectations.
