Head of School: International
£34,000 - £38,000 per annum
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucester, Forest of Dean
Post Number: K091
Closing Date: Sunday 05 February, 2012 (at 22:00)
Gloucestershire College is a modern, successful and innovative FE college. Forward looking and forward thinking, we’ve worked hard to build an excellent reputation for providing international students with good academic opportunities and an outstanding learning experience.
During the course of a year there will be over 300 full-time international students on campus, summer schools catering for more than 700 students and a variety of short-term customised courses being delivered to specific overseas groups. This makes our international ‘business’ an important revenue channel, with lots of potential and one we’re determined to continue to grow.
This is the exciting challenge awaiting our new Head of School, International. But it’s not just about recruiting overseas students – although this is a key task.
This is a multi-faceted role that, most importantly, also encompasses responsibility for the management, leadership and development of EFL, and the international team. This means you’ll be expected to ensure that provision meets the highest standards and the teaching team is supported and motivated.
Equally important to achieving your goals will be your ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and departments across the College. Plus you’ll be responsible for the pastoral welfare and care of the international students whilst they are at the College.
That’s why we’re looking for some with a unique combination of skills and experience.
You will need first-class people management experience together with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Results oriented, you’re hard-working, with the energy, passion, vision and commitment to succeed.
Based at Cheltenham, there will be some overseas travel and weekend and evening working.
Interview date: 1st March 2012
